Valentine’s Day Gets Luke-Warm Celebration

It’s valentine’s day today, the day mostly cherished by lovers, but over the past COVID years we have noticed that it’s usually a luke-warm celebration, not the flowers, chocolate and candle-light dinner we are accustomed to.

It sometimes dawn on us where have all the lovers gone.

Valentine’s Day is remembered as a Christian feast day of old times, honoring the Christian martyr, Saint Valentine, which by virtue of cultural and folk traditions, turned into a commercial venture labeled on romance.

It’s a time we know the colour “red” becomes dominant on this day, indicating the love one cherishes.

It may well be it has been outdone by Convention in a COVID World today, laced with many a strife.

On the other hand, social media appears to be the dominant platform now, which seems to be hyping up the Valentine affair, with many issuing sentiments of love.

We took our microphone to the streets to hear people’s views on the occasion today.
