13 Junior Calypsonians will come up against defending monarch, Christian ‘Mothy’ Niles, this Saturday at the Children’s Carnival Frolic at the National Stadium.

This year sees a 100% increase in the number of participants…from seven last year to fourteen this year.

The day’s event will also feature the Junior Panorama Competition with 5 bands, as well as the children’s band masquerade.

One of the spokespersons for the event is well-known Calypsonian, Edison Francis ‘Teacher Eddie’.

He was at Wee FM speaking on the SpiceMas-sponsored Carnival Programme, “The Band House” hosted by Thomas “Foopy” Morain.

Teacher Eddie says key in making Saturday’s event a major success is crowd participation and an early finish to the day’s proceedings.
