In Grenada statistics show there are currently 19 patients receiving dialysis…the process whereby a blood purifying treatment is administered when the kidney function is not optimum.

Kidney disease can affect the body’s ability to clean the blood, filter extra water out of the blood, and help control blood pressure.

Vice president of the Grenada National Patient Kidney Foundation, Patricia Bruno, speaks of the scenario here, concerning kidney patients.

Bruno is calling on all Grenadians to take care of their kidneys as the cost of dialysis is very expensive.
