A busy 2021 Atlantic Hurricane Season that saw 21 named storms and seven hurricanes came to an end yesterday.

Senator Winston Garraway tasked with the responsibility for Disaster Management declared the season officially closed.

Bringing down the curtains on the season, Garraway referred to the period as one of the most active, since records began in 1851.

Expressing gratitude to all the stakeholders for their support, Garraway says the nation can now breathe a sigh of relief that the country was not heavily impacted during the season.

Referring to the global impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, Garraway reminds citizens that going forward, preparedness is key.
