Grenada is staging what’s slated as an International Men’s Day Regional conference, in the run-up to International Men’s day Sunday.

The regional conference got underway this morning with an opening ceremony, under the theme, “Men Matter-Empower, Embrace and Elevate for Positive Transformation.

It’s intended to be an activity that will rotate to different countries on an annual basis.

Phillip Telesford, Minister of Social, Community Development and Gender Affairs, who further outlined that the inauguration of the activity is meant to be a partnership, women, the family and neighbourhood are integral in the scheme of things.

Chairman of the Conference, David Hopkin, says the Conference relates to initiatives for raising awareness on issues affecting or concerning men.

The Business of IT is a main feature at the Conference, as it was explained by a Director of the Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago.
