Joshua Paul, a 68 years old resident of Poyntzfield, St. Patrick, passed away at the General Hospital on Friday 7th October, 2022, while being treated for a gunshot wound to his leg.
During the early hours of Thursday 6th October, 2022, a uniformed police officer responded to a crime in progress at Seaton James Street, Grenville, St. Andrew. On arrival, he met and detained the offender.
While being escorted to the police station an incident occurred. Mr. Paul received a gunshot wound to his leg and was immediately taken to the Princess Alice Hospital. He was later transferred to the General Hospital where he subsequently passed away.
An autopsy to determine his cause of death has been ordered.
The Commissioner of Police and other members of the RGPF extends sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Joshua Paul.
