Grenadian police officers and civil service personnel were recently among members of an Eastern Caribbean group benefitting from what’s labeled as a strategic leadership course.

REPORT:

The virtual event was funded by the UK Ministry of Defense, providing participants with an opportunity to enhance their strategic leadership performance and helping them to understand the challenges of leadership.

The two-day multi-agency programme was in partnership with the Regional Security System (RSS) Headquartered in Barbados.

There were other participants from seven Eastern Caribbean countries and Barbados, along with representatives from CDEMA.

Among the topics examined were Leadership models and ethics; the strategic context and critical decision making.

The Facilitator of the exercise was the UK’s Defense Attaché to the Caribbean, Lt. Col. Simon Westlake, who noted that the UK remains committed to continue collaboration with Caribbean partners to better tackle contemporary security challenges that threaten lives and livelihoods.

The Eastern Caribbean partner countries today began a two-day programme with the expressed aim at Building Integrity in Senior Leaders.

It focuses on sharing experiences and lessons in managing complex situations in the modern environment.
