With Grenada intensifying its fight against COVID-19, we hear that the Sister Isles are ramping up their response and vaccination drive.

This comes with the recent surge in covid-19 cases.

The response team on the Sister Isles is working closely with the Ministry of Health, among other things, raising greater awareness about its vaccination drive and reinforcing measures to help safeguard against the potential spread of the virus.

Earlier we heard that the Sister Isles were due to receive their first quota of the approved Pfizer Vaccine, which will be rolled out as of tomorrow, for residents 12 years and older.

The vaccination team from the Ministry of Health will be at the Hillsborough Tennis Court between the hours of nine in the morning and two in the afternoon.

Health authorities on the islands are saying that many people have been coming forward to be vaccinated, and requests for the Pfizer brand vaccine are overwhelming.

Community Health Nurse, Donette St. Bernard, is encouraging everyone to get vaccinated, pointing out that global statistics show a decline in COVID-19 related deaths, as vaccination increases.

Kindra Mathurine Stewart, the Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, says sheโ€™s working with relevant stakeholders on the Sister Isles in the fight against the virus.
