The Rotary Club of Grenada is preparing to approach the home stretch of Christmas at the Point – its magical lights display with movie nights and other attractions.
According to organisers, the Christmas-themed installations such as Santa and nativity scenes will disappear after January 6 but the remainder of the wonderland of lights, including the iconic lighted entrance tunnel, snow zone and lighted trees will remain right up to closing night on Sunday January 16. Movies will continue but will be of a general nature for family audiences. The event will also continue to feature live acts from local artistes on selected evenings.
Estimating that almost ten thousand patrons have visited the park during the Season, President of the Club, Alphonsus Daniel had earlier indicated that the Club “has been very pleased by the response this year as we provide a safe space for activities which serve to relieve stress, get some fresh air, and stay active in support of health and wellness. We are particularly happy that the nation’s children and other persons dealing with elevated stress levels could have such an avenue to get much-needed relief, mentally, emotionally and of course physically.”
The Club is proud of its record in keeping visitors safe during this pandemic through the enforcement of carefully designed Covid-19 protocols in collaboration with the Royal Grenada Police Force and Ministry of Health.
For the next two weeks, Lights at the Point will continue with the usual schedule and entertainment from Fridays to Sundays, 5pm to 11pm until closing date, January 16.
