Effective today Grenadians will have to dig a little deeper into their pockets to pay more for flour and animal feed.

Wee fm news desk understands that a communiqué was sent out last week by Caribbean Agro Industries indicating the change in prices to take effect.

According to the notice the price hike will range between 12% and 16%.

Baking flour will increase by 12%, counter flour by 14%, and animal feed at 16%.

The company indicated that the last time it had an increase in the cost of its products was in the first quarter of last year.

Wee fm news desk took its micro-phones to the streets in the city to get the views of the public on the hike in prices.

Looking at the world market and as a result of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Mike Sylvester last week informed Grenadians that a shortage of supplies on the international market will result in an upsurge in the prices of goods such as wheat.
