Grenada’s Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell tells leaders of Small Islands Developing States (SIDS) to confront regional issues with creativity.

This as leaders of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) were engaged in discourse on common issues including charting the way forward tackling Climate Change.

Dr. Mitchell made the statement in his capacity as Chairman of the OECS Authority while addressing regional Ministers at the 6th Sitting of the Assembly.

This year’s event also focused on issues related to the environment used as a follow-up to COP 26 which was held in Glasgow, Scotland.

The deliberative forum held under the theme “The Shift: Embracing New Platforms and Innovative Models for Leadership in Sustainability” brought together both government and opposition members of the parliaments and legislatures of the eleven OECS Member States, to consider and seek common solutions to issues that affect the OECS region.

Speaking to the significance of the theme, Dr. Mitchell reminded his colleagues that the vulnerabilities of SIDS must be confronted with vision.
