Minister for Mobilisation, Implementation and Transformation Hon. Andyย Williams attended the Grenfin Invitational Swim Meet and OECS Qualifier, to witness theย selection of Grenadaโs National Swim Team for next monthโs OECS Swimming Championship.
The event took place at the Good Hope Swimming Pool in St. Pauls over the weekend.
Minister Williams was highly commended for his intervention in securing much-needed assistanceย for immediate restoration work at the pool, following the recent passing of the tropical systemย where the facility sustained extensive damage.
Also attending the event was Minister for Youth, Sports, and Culture Hon. Ron Redhead. He pledged governmentโs commitment to the construction of a state-of-the-art Aquatic Centre to aidย the development of Grenadaโs swimmers.
The 30th Annual OECS Invitational Swimming Championship will be held at the Rodney Heightsย Aquatic Centre, Rodney Bay, St. Lucia from November 11 โ 13, 2022, after a two-year break fromย the regional event due to COVID-19.
