With the united nations closely monitoring the situation in Gaza and the passing of a resolution for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in war-torn territory, we note that Grenada has voted in favour of the measure.
Grenada is among 153 countries voting in favour of the resolution.

The resolution was presented by Egypt with the support of 100 countries, and it eventually passed with 153 countries, of the 193 which make up the General Assembly, Grenada included.
Ten countries, including the United States, Israel, and Austria, voted against the resolution, while 23 countries including the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Ukraine abstained.
The huge majority vote, with Grenada included, reflects the international will for the enforcement of the resolution.
It’s reported that the resolution is non-binding and carries no legal weight; however, it indicates what the rest of the world thinks about the ongoing conflict in the Gaza between Israel and Hamas.
Palestinian envoy to the United Nations Riyad Mansour said the vote marked “a historic day in terms of the powerful message that was sent from the General Assembly.”
One of the sticking points before the resolution was adopted was the fact that it did not specifically condemn Hamas for its attack on Israel on October
Efforts made to amend the resolution to include the condemnation of Hamas failed, prompting remarks by the Israeli representative that the General Assembly was “about to vote on another hypocritical resolution.”
At the time when the conflict appeared getting out of hand, the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) had issued a call for an immediate ceasefire and an end of hostilities by all parties.
It stated that the savage nature of the attacks and counterattacks were the anti-thesis of civilized life and living, with innocent lives being lost amidst the fervour and violence of the actual combatants
