It is with a very heavy heart that our Minister for Health, Permanent
Secretary, Management and Staff, and in particular the staff of the Mt. Gay Hospital and
the General Hospital Laboratory, mourn the death of Ms. Rosey Roxy Baptiste and Mrs.
Kimberly Felix who both died in a motor vehicle accident on Monday, at Westerhall, St.
David.
Up to the time of the tragedy Miss. Baptiste and Mrs. Fletcher were employees of the Mt.
Gay Hospital and the General Hospital Laboratory, respectively, and were widely
respected and appreciated for their contribution to the growth and development of both
institutions.
Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health Dr. Francis Martin says his thoughts,
prayers and most heartfelt sympathies go out to the three families who lost loved ones in
the tragic accident.
He added that the Ministry of Health and the health fraternity in general were hardest hit,
as two long serving members of staff lost their lives in that accident.
The Ministry of Health, Social Security and International Business extend its deepest
sympathies to the families, relatives, friends, and colleagues of both Miss. Baptiste and
Mrs. Fletcher as well as Mr. Alister Andrew who also lost his life in the fatal crash.
“It is our hope that our prayers will guide their souls to our Heavenly Father. Again, please
accept our most sincere condolences.”
