Minister Of Agriculture, Peter David, is to lead a committee here to look into a CARICOM report which establishes recommendation concerning the decriminalization and/or legalization of marijuana as a regional initiative.

Speaking to a selected panel of reporters yesterday, the first in a series of media engagements, Prime Minister, Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell, says public consultation on the issue may soon get started here.

The debate on medical marijuana has been gathering pace regionally and internationally which the Grenadian Leader says has created an evolution in his position on the use of the drug.

Focusing more on its misuse and ill effects, Dr. Mitchell makes it abundantly clear that the Government’s intention to decriminalize the drug is not an indication to abuse it.
