The Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) has again bring to the fore the issues of Derelict vehicles, seen along the nation’s roadside and in some community areas hampering activities within the specified area.
According to the Waste Management Act# 16 of 2001: A “derelict vehicle” is defined as any abandoned or discarded motor vehicle, or any motor vehicle left in a public place that is in such a dilapidated condition that it cannot be safely used for the purpose of transportation.
Speaking to members of the media recently Superintendent Randy Connaught of the Traffic department of the RGPF describes the issue of derelict vehicles all over the country as “vexing”.
Superintendent Connaught says work will soon begin, in clearing up the congestion caused, by the indiscriminate dumping of “derelict vehicles”.
