Information reaching us indicates a Grenadian National, along with a Vincentian has been slapped with drug charges in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Grenadian is reported to be 26-year-old Marvin Albert, a Farmer of Paradise, St. Andrew.
Albert, together with Michael Scott, 26 years, a Fisherman, of Union Island, St. Vincent, was arrested and charged, on account of a seizure of 222 pounds of cannabis.
This was during an operation at the Southern Side of Union Island carried out by members of the Rapid Response Police Unit in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Marvin Albert and Michael Scott are charged for the offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Drug, following the discovery in an abandoned house.
Both men appeared at the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court in St. Vincent this week.
The Grenadian, Marvin Albert, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 1 year and six months in prison…the 1 year and 3 months being the penalty for the drug charge and 3 months for illegally entering the State of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Michael Scott, meanwhile, pleaded not guilty and was placed on bail in the amount of 50,000 dollars.
