Farmers in Carriacou and mainland Grenada are being encouraged to understand the benefits that can be provided with the installation of proper irrigation.
That was the emphasis of a project by the Ministry of Agriculture, with an investment to the tune of more than one hundred thousand EC dollars.
The farmers have been offered technical support in irrigation technology.
Equipment in this connection were handed to the farmers recently, so as to allow them to become more productive and enhance their livelihood.
The initiative is being supported by the Caribbean Aqua Terrestrials project.
