We have reports that the fire which was raging in the vegetative landscape in the Beaulieu/Belle Vue area in St. George North/East has been brought under control.

Throughout the greater part of yesterday the National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA), together with the RGPF Fire Department and teams of volunteers took to the task of tackling the fire, which threatened fear within the community.

The fire posed a great challenge with respect to the prevailing dry weather conditions.

NaDMA Coordinator, Dr. Terrence Walters, spoke with Wee Fm news desk this morning an indicated that things are under control.

Dr. Walters is appealing to the Nation’s citizens to be conscious about the damage that can be caused by burning at this time.

Inspector Thaddeus Hamilton of the RGPF’s Fire Department also noted that the task was a challenging one yesterday.
