Today we heard that effective April 15th bi-monthly payment of salaries to Government workers will begin in earnest and on this score the Ministry of Finance will continue engagement with stakeholders.
Earlier this month the Grenada government held discussions with the Grenada Bankers Association and the Grenada Cooperative League, Insurance companies and Unions to discuss the implementation of the payments.

Permanent secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Mike Sylvester, speaks of ensuring the roll out process is done smoothly.
Sylvester explained that the prior banking arrangements of officers will not be affected, after the implementation of the bi- monthly payments.
Sylvester says the government has no intention of interrupting the spending power of the public, but as it stands economic benefits can be achieved.
