There’s been a lot of commotion around midday today in view of a fire at the Frequente Industrial Park, Grand Anse, where several businesses were destroyed.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
It’s being investigated.
Police are said to have responded to a distress call and worked feverishly in an effort to put the blaze under control.
We are told that a number of offices in the vicinity were affected.
Looking at videos of the scene we noticed thick smoke billowing from the compound.
Another one of the businesses in the area that’s affected is Telecommunications Company, Green Dot.
We had word with the company’s Operations’ Manager, Richard Alexander, who indicated that things will be back to normal by tomorrow.
We also understand that a fireman on the scene was reportedly rushed to hospital suffering from effects of the fire.
The building that’s destroyed falls under the responsibility of the Grenada Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC).
