April 21, 2022: The 2022 Carriacou Maroon and String Band Music Festival has been
cancelled.
The cancellation has been confirmed by the Carriacou Maroon and String Band Music
Festival Committee and the Carriacou and Petite Martinique Festival Board.
It follows dialogue over the last six weeks between the committee, the festival board and key stakeholders, all of whom expressed concern about the time needed to efficiently plan, prepare and execute the festival post-COVID 19.
While apologizing to patrons for the inconvenience that may be caused as a result of the cancellation, organisers and key stakeholders both locally and regionally, are assuring of a grand return of the festival in 2023.
Traditionally, the festival is held at the end of April.
