Grenada was among 16 Chambers of Commerce from across the Caribbean region who gathered in Barbados for the past two days to formally launch the Network of Caribbean Chambers of Commerce (CARICHAM).
The session was attended by Executive Directors from Antigua/Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, St. Kitts/Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname.
Among other things, the launch of CARICHAM will focus on determining the best mechanism(s) to represent the interest of the private sector on regional and international issues.
It will also help to, facilitate capacity building opportunities for members and representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and promote trade and investment in the Caribbean and with other international trading partners.
