CARIBBEAN DEVELOPMENT BANK MISSION TO GRENADA, APRIL 25-26, 2023

Two representative from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) is on a two-day country supervisory mission here.

It’s led by Malcolm Wallace, the Operations Officer for Agriculture and Rural Development, who’s joined by Cyril Gill, the Project Manager responsible for CARIFORUM-EU-EPA and the CSME Standby Facility.

While here, the CDB representatives will meet with key stakeholders and beneficiaries of the “Agri-Food Sector Development Project and Strengthening of the National Food

Safety System in Grenada”, which is being financed by the CARIFORUM-EU EPA and CSME Standby Facility for Capacity Building.

The Standby Facility is a 8.75 million Euros resource managed by the Caribbean Development Bank, which, among other things offers opportunities to fifteen Caribbean economies to grow trade and deepen integration and economic involvement.

The facility also helps impact competitiveness, market access and exports by implementing targeted projects in thematic areas.

Grenada is the sixth beneficiary of the CARIFORUM European Union Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) and the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) Standby Facility for Capacity Building.

It’s financed by the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) and administered by the CDB.

Over the course of the two days, today and tomorrow, the representatives will also be meeting with officials from the Ministries of Trade and Agriculture, the Grenada Bureau of Standards, the Climate Smart Agriculture and Rural Enterprise Programme and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
