The 45TH regular meeting of regional leaders on the 50th anniversary of CARICOM has brought a reaffirmation of their commitment in the further strengthening of the regional integration process.

At the actual start of deliberations yesterday in Trinidad, the leaders braved the inclement weather to sit down to talks that would shape decades to another 50 years.

Incoming CARICOM Chairman, Roosevelt Skerritt, Prime Minister of Dominica, says the 50th anniversary celebration is a proud moment for the region.

The incoming CARICOM Chairman noted as they set new targets to ensure the region thrives in the ever-changing global environment, there are unfinished tasks that must be completed.

Reaffirming commitment to the ideals of the regional integration process going forward, Mr. Skerritt poses the question about free movement.
