The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) has published its first report for 2022 on the region’s COVID epi-demiological situation.
It shows that in CARPHA Member States there have been 555, 926 confirmed cases, 11,628 deaths and that 3 million, 395 thousand 142 individuals have been vaccinated.
However, it shows that the amount of confirmed cases in the Caribbean since the virus was first detected to be 2 million 528 thousand 904, with 29,846 deaths and 23 million 889 thousand 996 persons vaccinated.
As of January 9 this year, CARPHA says its Medical Micro-biology Laboratory has received 102,553 samples for testing from CARPHA Member States, 24,457 (23.8%) of which have tested positive, since the start of the outbreak.
