According to a police release, John Kendell Alexis, aged 30, self-employed, residing in Lauriston Carriacou, was charged with the offense of non-capital murder.
Police say he intentionally caused the death of Esther Patterson, aged 14, a student of Lauriston Carriacou, by unlawful harm.
The offense is alleged to have been committed on Friday, March 8, 2024, in Lauriston, Carriacou.
A candlelight vigil, attended by several individuals, including the Minister for Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, Tevin Andrews, was held last night.

Police say Alexis is expected to make his first court appearance later this week.
