Chairman of the Grenada National Reparations Commission (GNRC), and former Ambassador to CARICOM, Arley Gill, today made a call for August 1 to be a national holiday here in Grenada.
Gill’s comment came as he addressed an audience in the market square today in observance of Emancipation Day.
He said August 1 should be the most significant day for black people.
Minister of Culture, Ron Redhead, says the government would need to review the possibilities.
