PR – Grenfin Swim Club Grenada has once again claimed the championship title and the George A. Menezes Challenge Trophy at the Lucozade Grenfin Invitational Swim Meet 2026, securing the top spot for the fifth consecutive year. This remarkable achievement follows a two-year hiatus of the event during the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
A flagship event on the national swimming calendar, the Grenfin Invitational serves as the Grenada Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) sanctioned OECS National Swim Team Qualifier.
Over 150 swimmers from clubs across Grenada competed over four days, vying for the opportunity to represent the 34-member OECS National Swim Team at the 34th OECS Swimming Championships, which will be held at the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre in Saint Lucia from 6 to 8 November 2026.
This year’s invitational also welcomed eight swimmers from RR Aquatic Swim Club of Saint Lucia. Their participation provided valuable competition for Grenada’s young swimmers and helped prepare them for the level of performance expected at regional events.
Grenfin emerged as overall champions with 1,538 points, followed by SolidBase Triathlon and Swim Team with 1,301 points, RR Aquatic with 364 points, Sailfish Swim Club with 291 points, and unattached swimmers with a combined 13 points.
At the conclusion of the four-day competition, the following swimmers were crowned Age Group Champions:
- Girls 6 & Under: Kaelah Octave, RR Aquatic Swim Club
- Boys 6 & Under: Nelson Wilson-Louison II, SolidBase Triathlon & Swim Team
- Girls 7-8: Tyler Charles, Grenfin Swim Club Grenada
- Boys 7-8: Liam Charlemagne, RR Aquatic Swim Club
- Girls 9-10: Halle Gooding, SolidBase Triathlon & Swim Team
- Boys 9-10: Keshon Cobb, Grenfin Swim Club Grenada
- Girls 11-12: Angeliner Glenes Jackson-Bain, SolidBase Triathlon & Swim Team
- Boys 11-12: Mateo Thomas, SolidBase Triathlon & Swim Team
- Girls 13-14: Eliza-Rose Benjamin, Grenfin Swim Club Grenada
- Boys 13-14: Ethan Chu Fook, Sailfish
- Girls 15 & Over: Kristin Gresham, Sailfish
- Boys 15 & Over: Kaleb Williams, Grenfin Swim Club Grenada
Following the meet, Coach Romain of RR Aquatic shared the following sentiments:
