Commissioner Of Police Meets The Farmers To Discuss The Way Forward

0

Farmers in the St. Andrew and surrounding areas yesterday were given the opportunity to air their concerns and grievances as it relates to predial larceny and how it affects their trade.

This was done through a face to face engagement with Commissioner of Police Edvin Martin, Agriculture minister Peter David and other stakeholders in the Agriculture sector.

Farmers turned out in their numbers to listen to some of the solutions that were brought forward to help pave the way for a better working relationship between themselves and members of the RGPF.

Commissioner of Police Edvin Martin in his opening remarks encouraged farmers to get registered, which he sees as a beneficial tool in this praedial larceny fight.

The Top Cop says the RGPF recently launched a computerized Data base system for praedial larceny in various parishes across the island, which will be used to collect data as it relates to praedial larceny and the circumstance under which it occur.

He told the farmers that the RGPF has not lost interest in assisting them to get positive results.
