Grenadians are being urged to pay particular attention to their nutrition, since Chronic Non- Communicable Disease (NCD’s) continue to be highlighted as the number one cause of death and disability worldwide.
This is according to Community Nutritionist at the Grenada Food and Nutrition Council, Gardeina Savoury, in an interview on the programme, “The Next Chapter”.
Savoury’s comment against the background of awareness on World Diabetes Day which was observed yesterday.
Non-communicable diseases (NCDs), includes heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes and chronic lung disease.
Savoury says the Grenada Food and Nutrition Council plays an important role in reaching out to persons in communities, encouraging them to pay particular attention to their nutrition.
