The Council of the Grenada Football Association (GFA) met on Saturday April 6th at the GFA Conference room.
Twenty-two delegates and several observers attended this important Extraordinary meeting.
This was the first meeting of the Council following the provisional suspension of President Joseph on January 26th, 2019.
This Council meeting was requested by the members of Council with a packed agenda with several matters relating to the suspension of the President Joseph.
The Executive members suspended are, Second Vice President Patrick Francis, Women’s Representative Renae Samuel, Director for St. John Randy Campbell, Director for St. George Nigel Gibbs and Director for St. Andrew Peter Blair.
Other matters on the agenda were:
Amendments to the Statutes for the return to one club one vote. This matter was defeated which implies the Continuation of the Conference representation structure.
Disciplinary procedure against the five (5) five members of the Executive that voted for the suspension of the President.
After much debate, Council voted for the suspension of the five (5) Executive members who moved the motion to suspend the GFA President.
The GFA Council also elected Mr. Luther Rennie as the Carriacou and Petite Martinique representative on the Executive.
