Just as expected, the legendary Darren Sammy, one-time West Indies cricket captain, will campaign with St. Lucia Stars in the 2019 Caribbean Premier Cricket League tournament.
Officially, on the basis of the CPL draft which took place today, it’s likely that St. Lucia will have a rather strong team.
Sammy is expected to fill the void left by Keiron Pollard who goes to Knight Riders.
We also notice that Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga will campaign with St. Lucia Stars for a second time.
He will return to Stars in full cry after helping Mumbai Indians capture the IPL title earlier this month.
Australia’s Fawad Ahmed, the top wicket-taker for the champion Trinbago Knight Riders last year, will join Malinga in Saint Lucia.
Sri Lankan allrounder Thisara Perera rejoins Saint Lucia Stars, having played for them in 2016, when they were the Zouks.
And off-course, Grenada’s Andre Fletcher will continue on the St. Lucia Stars team.
