Culture Minister, Norlan Cox, defends the administration’s decision relative to the cancellation of carnival 2020, indicating uncertainty with the changes in societal and cultural norms brought about due to the advent of the global coronavirus.
In an address in the subject, Cox says the World has changed and society is beginning to adapt to a yet-to-be-defined new normal.
Amidst this raging global pandemic called COVID-19, he noted nations have been forced to re-organize their societies; and individuals have been asked through discipline and consideration to change their behaviour.
Cox says while it was a tough decision, it was wise, considering all the facts.
