There are some traditions and commitments to the people of the Town of St. George that Peter David has maintained throughout his political career, whether he’s in government, on the opposition benches or—for a period after 2013—out of parliament altogether.
For example, it’s been habitual for MP David, prior to the opening of a new school year, to host a back-to-school event for his constituents.
This year’s activity brought parents and children together in an atmosphere of community, care and support—reflecting David’s long-standing reputation as a hands-on, people-centred representative.
Apart from the distribution of some school supplies, the event also comprised a health fair. It featured free health services, and haircuts and hair braiding for children and families at no cost to them.
“This is a small token of appreciation for the love and support that I continue to receive from the wonderful people of the Town of St George,’’ said David, a former Foreign Affairs and Tourism Minister, who will be leading the Democratic People’s Movement (DPM) into the next general election.
“My commitment to helping them will remain steadfast under a DPM government,’’ added David, a veteran lawyer and four-time MP for the Town of St George.
