Positions for the order of appearance in the 2023 Carnival Calypso final were selected last evening and the defending monarch, Findley Jeffrey (Scholar), will sing in position 1.
The competition will be next Thursday at Progress Park in St Andrew.
Opening the show Finley Jeffery ‘Scholar’, followed by Joseph Jason (Big J), Randy Isaac, first timer Joseph Gordon (I Am G), Carlos Lewis (Pecos) in position number 5, followed by Germaine Simon (Superstar), Sean Niles (Sour Serpent), Valene Nedd, Jerry Baptiste (Pappa Jerry), Kelly Clyne ‘Rootsman Kelly’ and Michael Prince in position number 11.

Carlos “Pecos” Lewis of Gouyave, St. John, who has been involved in the calypso art-form from quite some time, has this year impressed the judges and he’s on the grand finale stage.
