Digicel and Flow today signed what’s called the St. George’s Declaration, an agreement geared towards the reduction and subsequent Elimination of Roaming Charges.

This has been a sore point of discussion throughout the region in previous years and today, moves are in the making towards a reality.

At the signing ceremony was Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Mitchell, the man leading the region in the area of Science and Technology and galvanizing the idea of the regional digital space.

He says the still unfolding global pandemic continues to spike at the heart of Grenada and the region’s economic sectors…the pandemic which also brought the issue of technology clearly to the forefront.

He, however, noted though that the single digital space has been in train way before the pandemic, so as to move the region clearly in the technological direction.

The Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, joined the ceremony virtually and thanked all involved, including the hierarchy in the Caribbean Telecommunications Union, for making the move.

Kieran Mulvey, one of the Directors of Digicel, says it’s a significant moment in the telecoms industry in the region.

The Vice President of the South Caribbean Cable and Wireless Communications, Kurleigh Prescod, says FLOW is proud to be associated with the call made by CARICOM and it’s committed to the task.
