Grenada 1st and only island wide LTE Network provider Digicel celebrated its sweet 16th anniversary on November 17, 2019.
To mark the occasion, the company celebrated with its loyal customers at its outlets island wide. Customers were treated to sweet treats, specials and amazing prizes.
The celebratory event which commenced on Tuesday started with the launch of Digicel Youth Ambassador Program. Digicel Youth Ambassador Program strives to inspire young students by providing a positive and age-appropriate empowerment experience highlighting exposure to different career paths and opportunities to help students begin to focus on long-term goals.
The first phase of the program which was facilitated by Digicel Ambassadors Vaughn, Dash, Jabba, Mikey Hutchinson and special guest Terra the Governor, included an hour and a half session inclusive of pep talks, music and one on one interaction with the students. The main focus was on bullying and violence in schools.
Phase 1 of the Digicel Youth Ambassador Program saw visits to six secondary schools as follows; Grenville Secondary, Westerhall Secondary, Wesley College, St. Joseph’s Convent Grenville, St. Mark Secondary and Mac Donald College. Phase 2 is scheduled for early 2020.
Shrivon Redhead, Digicel’s chief executive officer, expressed her delight in the company reaching its sixteenth anniversary stating. Sweet 16 is significant because it means that in those sixteen years we have successfully kept good on our promise to our Customers and our Community and that in itself is a fantastic reason to celebrate with the youth, our future”.
