PR – The Democratic People’s Movement (DPM) has firmly rejected claims suggesting it is engaged in discussions with the New National Party (NNP) to reach electoral accommodations ahead of the next general election.

The claims are “completely false’’, says Dr. Anthony Bridgeman, Head of Policy Development for the DPM.

Bridgeman, who was speaking in an interview with Calistra Farrier on The Narrative, dismissed the claims and emphasized that the Movement’s sole objective is to win the confidence of the Grenadian people and to secure victory at the polls.

“We are running to win the election. We are not running to form an alliance,’’ Bridgeman declared. “There are no discussions with any political party about accommodations or seat-sharing arrangements. Our focus is on presenting a credible alternative to the people of Grenada.’’

Bridgeman was unequivocal in responding to speculation that the DPM had held back-channel discussions with the NNP over specific constituencies.

“I can tell you, after speaking with the leadership of the party from top to bottom, these reports are simply not true,’’ he said.

“If anyone has evidence to support these allegations, let them produce it. We are preparing to field candidates across the country and take our message directly to the electorate.’’

Bridgeman acknowledged that political rumours often emerge as new movements gain momentum, but said the DPM would not be distracted.

“Politics can sometimes be a dirty business,’’ he said. “When people see a new movement making progress, there will be attempts to create uncertainty or destabilize it. Our response is simple: keep our eyes on the prize, stay focused on the people, and continue presenting our vision for Grenada.’’

DPM, Bridgeman emphasized, remains committed to selecting strong candidates, developing practical policies, and campaigning on a message of inclusion, transparency, accountability and national unity.

“Our message is clear,’’ he said. “We believe in listening to the people, welcoming good ideas regardless of where they come from, and building a government that serves every Grenadian. We are asking the people for their vote because we believe Grenada deserves a new style of leadership.’’

DPM, in a statement, reaffirmed its determination to continue with its nationwide engagement programme as it prepares to contest the next general election, with the goal of winning and offering Grenadians a credible and principled alternative in governance.
