Reports are in that the Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority (ECTEL) of which Grenada is a member, launches a campaign to promote the Electronic Communications Bill.

The Act in ECTEL’s five-member States has been in force for over 25 years.

And, as such, it’s focusing on its Electronic Communications Bill (EC Bill) Education and Public Awareness Campaign.

A release says the EC Bill, when enacted, will undoubtedly advance the work of ECTEL and the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commissions(NTRCs) as regulatory leaders, committed to consumer empowerment and harmonised benefits in a unified space.

The event is slated to be held virtually on Thursday, January 27, from 2 pm Eastern Caribbean time.

ECTEL anticipates that its efforts through this campaign and with the support of its partners and stakeholders will provide a greater understanding of the EC Bill, which is expected to address a number of gaps in the broadband sector.
