STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS NO. 52 OF 2021

In exercise of the powers conferred under section 4 of the Emergency Powers Act, Chapter 88 for the purposes of section 17 of the Constitution, the Cabinet of Grenada makes the following Regulations–

(Gazetted 4th November, 2021).

  1. Citation. These Regulations may be cited as the

EMERGENCY POWERS (COVID-19) (NO. 7) (AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) REGULATIONS, 2021,

and shall be read as one with the Emergency Powers (COVID-19) (No. 7) Regulations,  2021, SRO No. 49 of 2021 hereinafter referred to as the “principal Regulations”.

  1. Amendment of regulation 3 of principal Regulations. Regulation 3 of the  principal Regulations is amended in the definition of “curfew period” by deleting the  words “and (2)” after the words “regulation 4 (1)”.
  2. Amendment of regulation 4 of principal Regulations. Regulation 4 of the principal Regulations is amended as follows–

(a) by repealing sub-regulation (1) and substituting therefor the following new subregulation–

“(1) Subject to sub-regulation (2), beginning at 12 midnight on the 5th  day November, 2021 a curfew shall be imposed daily from 12 midnight  and ending at 4:00 a.m., and during this period every person shall remain  confined to their place of residence (inclusive of their yard space) to  avoid contact outside of his or her household, except as provided in these  Regulations or as may be authorised in writing by the Commissioner of  Police in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer.”;

(b) in sub-regulation (2), by deleting the number “8:59 p.m.” before the  words “each day” and substituting therefor the number “11:59 p.m.”.
