Grenada’s Environmental Health Officer, Kenneth Hazzard, speaks of a heavy concentration of work in the St. Andrew area, which, on record, now has some 60% of the identifiable cases of dengue fever nationwide.

Mr. Hazzard says the emergency response plan so as to curb the incidence of the disease has been activated.

He says there’s a high concentration of getting rid of mosquito breeding sources.

Hazzard explains what the Environmental Department is concentrating on currently, in pursuit of taking control of the situation.

Hazzard says the indiscriminate disposal of refuse has been a major concern for the vector control division over the years.
