RUBIS Grenada, supplier of petroleum products, SAYS investigations are still being conducted by the company relative to the accidental death of a worker on the week-end.
There was an explosion which took place resulting in the passing of one of their contractors, Locksley Murray.
The death is described as “unfortunate”.
A release from the Company noted that the incident occurred at the Grand Mal Terminal, whilst welding work was being performed on a fuel tanker.
The company says both local and regional teams are working closely with the Grenadian authorities to quickly establish the details and cause of the explosion.
It went on to state that Safety is a number one priority at RUBIS and the company is reassuring residents that the Grand Mal Terminal has been thoroughly checked and safely secured, following what is dubbed as an isolated incident.
The company has expressed condolences to the family of Locksley Murray and assures the public that it considers it a serious incident.
