A fire in village road, Grenville, St. Andrew, this morning, is reported to have destroyed a 1-room apartment.
Everything in the concrete structure was completely gutted by the blaze.
What we’ve been told is that attempts by the occupants to extinguish the fire proved futile and it raged out of control.
The Fire Department arrived on the scene and helped extinguish the blaze.
The extent of the damage is still being assessed, which according to the owner, Dennis Abraham, could be in the range of 30-odd thousand dollars.
Investigations are being conducted.
Wee FM News spoke this morning with the owner of the property, who noted that the loss is hard to bear.
