PR – The Ministry of Sports, Culture and the Arts, Fisheries and Co-operatives hereby notifies Fishers and the general public of the closed season for:
· Turtles and Sea Urchins (Sea Eggs) – April 01 to August 31, 2021
· Lobsters – May 01 to August 31, 2021
Please be advised that according to the Fisheries (Amendment) Regulations of Grenada 1996, it is illegal to catch, harvest, harm, sell, purchase or be in possession of any species of lobster, sea urchin and turtle, including the poaching of turtle eggs, during the closed season.
Failure to comply with the closed season regulations may result in a summary conviction of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00).
The Ministry encourages Fishers and the general public to report to the Fisheries Division at 440-3814 or to the Royal Grenada Police Force at 440-3999, anyone observed violating the closed season regulations.
