Retired principal of the St. Josephs convent St. George’s Sister Maureen Alexander has received recognition in the Queen’s New Year’s Honors’ list.
Sister Maureen is awarded Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for her service to education.
Other persons named on the list are Mr. Andre Cherman officer of the order of the British Empire (OBE).
Cecil St. Louis is awarded Member of the order of the British Empire (MBE) for his service to education.
And Adrian Blackman and Sergeant Lawrence Francis both received the British Empire Medal (BEM) for their services to the community.
The honorees will be officially recognized during a ceremony to take place in London, those who are unable to travel to London to receive the award directly from the queen, will receive their awards at a ceremony here in Grenada spearheaded by the Queens representative, Governor General Dame Cecile La Grenade.
