The Ministry Of Health is to ensure that Food handlers are properly certified and training in this regard is to be conducted sometime in July, especially as it concerns the sale of food with a plethora of events scheduled for around the festive season.
The certification exercise was unavoidably not held over the past few years, with Grenada under COVID-19 watch.
Chief Environmental Health Officer, Andre Worme, says it’s important that food handlers be certified and that the training is to ensure that foods being sold are of an exceptionally high quality and safe for consumption.
The Food Handlers certification is a legal requirement that allows vendors to provide the service of food production and it’s critical that they be certified to conduct business.
