The minister with responsibility for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hon. Clarice Modeste-Curwen is encouraged by the work of the Grenada Airports Authority (GAA) to increase business confidence and return to safe, secure and efficient operations, against the backdrop of the global pandemic.
She made the comment during a recent visit to the Maurice Bishop International Airport (MBIA).
With the move towards re-opening up the Nation’s borders, we understand that in the month of October, over 10,000 passengers moved through MBIA.
The numbers are expected to increase as American Airlines is scheduled to resume its daily service December 1 and Sunwing Airlines beginning a weekly service as of January 2022.
The MBIA continues to maintain its health accreditation status with Airport Council International (ACI) which confirms that the Grenada airport provides a safe experience, using industry best practices during the COVID19 pandemic.
Tourism Minister Dr. Clarice Modeste-Curwen remarked that, “Airlines are showing confidence in Grenada, and there’s a great deal of optimism as it concerns safety, with visitors coming to Grenada.
Based on current developments, Minister Modeste-Curwen commended the Board of Directors, management, and staff of the Airports Authority for their continued support throughout these difficult times.
