PR – Fabian Wayne Aird, the former Grenada Road March winner known as “General PP’’, has thrown his support behind Democratic People’s Movement (DPM) Political Leader and Town of St. George MP, Peter David, praising David’s longstanding commitment to the constituency and urging residents to continue supporting him.
General PP, speaking at a DPM political meeting that drew a sizeable gathering of supporters, referred to the early days of David’s political career and argued that his relationship with the people of St. George has endured across political changes.
“I remember when Ken Joseph came right in there when he said, ‘Watch, we have some fresh blood,’ and he introduced us to Peter David,” General PP recalled.
He then delivered his central endorsement: “Peter David has never turned his back on the community of River Road and [the surrounding community].”
General PP also used a biblical reference to frame David’s political journey, telling the DPM leader: “The stone that the builder refused does always end up the cornerstone.”
His endorsement comes as David prepares to contest the Town of St. George again, this time under the banner of the DPM, the political movement he formed after leaving the New National Party in January 2025.
A former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism, David has represented the constituency across different political periods, winning it as an NDC candidate in 2003 and 2008 and later as an NNP candidate in 2018 and 2022.
David’s continuing constituency work has also included annual back-to-school initiatives, health services and other community activities.
General PP’s endorsement adds a prominent cultural voice to the growing political activity surrounding the Town of St. George.
The veteran entertainer won Grenada’s 2004 Road March title with “Never Say Never,” a result recorded in historical Road March listings.
After a 20-year break from competition, he returned to the 2026 Power Soca Monarch competition and was among the 12 finalists.
