The Grenada Food And Nutrition Council’s annual daycare survey began in earnest today.

Forty-five daycares on the mainland and two in Carriacou will be visited by Nutrition officers.

Assessment will be done on the children’s nutritional status through weight and height measurements.

Communications Officer at the Grenada Food and Nutrition Council, Lishelle Murray, tells us about the goal of the survey.

Following the survey an official report will be presented to each participating daycare and a summary report will be sent to the Ministries of Social Development and Health and the central statistics department.

Murray says if any child shows abnormal nutritional status, one-on-one assistance will be provided.
